5 Years Ago, Saylor Became a Pioneer in Buying Bitcoin and Now Holds US$74 Billion
Strategy, formerly known as MicroStrategy, for the first time acquired 21,454 Bitcoin (BTC) worth US$250 million 5 years ago. Now its value has multiplied many times, reaching US$74.81 billion.
Thanks to Bitcoin, Strategy's stock has soared more than 3,000% since its first Bitcoin purchase, even outperforming Bitcoin itself.
Despite already holding a significant amount, namely 628 thousand Bitcoin, Saylor plans to acquire more by raising US$84 billion by 2027. Therefore, the strategy is to consistently purchase Bitcoin regularly.
Saylor also continues to leverage various capital market instruments, such as stock sales and bond issuance, to fund this aggressive strategy.
Meanwhile, on Monday (11/08), Strategy acquired 155 Bitcoin worth US$18 million. This amount is much smaller compared to the previous acquisition, which was 21,021 coins worth US$2.4 billion on Tuesday (29/07).
It is recorded that in the last five years, Strategy has acquired Bitcoin 74 times, making it now hold 628,946 Bitcoin with a value reaching US$74.8 billion, approaching 3% of the total Bitcoin supply.
